Who We Are
Established in 1995, The Works Museum is a child-focused, interactive science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) museum, and a leader in providing informal elementary engineering education in the Twin Cities metro area. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers, and our vision is to serve as the primary pathway for elementary-age youth into engineering, technology, and manufacturing careers, ensuring a highly skilled future workforce that is representative of our community.
With The Works Museum, students get to use real tools and materials and practice the Engineering Habits of Mind, including collaboration, creative problem solving, and persistence, critical skills every child needs. We seek to ensure that every student has the opportunity to explore STEM through experiences that spark long-term interest and inspire career dreams.
What We Do
Our exhibits, programs, and design challenges engage kids in science, technology, and engineering and make learning memorable and fun.
Dreams need doing, and exploring engineering gives a child the power to make stuff, break stuff, and make it better! We need the imagination and skill of engineers to solve the problems and address the challenges of our modern world. Engineering fuels collaboration, persistence, and problem solving; critical skills for every child from every walk of life. The Works Museum welcomes you to explore engineering and stretch your imagination.
Visit our Museum with your family or group, and be sure to check out our birthday party packages, field trips, programs we can bring to your school, camps, and incredible events and special activity days.
