Description

Organization: Cleaning Up for Cancer

Website: http://www.cleaningupforcancer.org

Established: 2007               Number of Employees: 2

Mission Statement:  Cleaning Up for Cancer provides free house cleaning to any cancer patient of any age living in the Twin Cities 7-county metropolitan area.

Organization’s Challenge:

Cleaning Up For Cancer is seeking support for a marketing strategy project. Co-founders David and Cindy Bearman were inspired to start their nonprofit after Cindy had breast cancer. Their organization provides two free house cleanings per patient, recognizing the importance of a clean, non-toxic environment during cancer treatment. Funded by donations and grants, Cleaning Up For Cancer pays cleaning companies to provide these services at a reduced rate. Messaging to current cancer patients is established: the organization works with various hospitals and oncology clinics across the Twin Cities to reach potential clients. Reaching other supporters is done through email or LinkedIn rather than large-scale fundraisers. Cleaning Up For Cancer seeks marketing expertise to learn effective ways to reach potential donors, corporate sponsors, and media members. They have plans to expand services into greater Minnesota as they seek a wider reach. The Bearmans want to learn more about the best ways to share their mission with large corporations/foundations, finding the right people to help share their work more broadly and making their message compelling. They would benefit from a marketing strategy around an audience pipeline that helps identify the new funders, volunteers, or connections who could move the organization forward.
