ORGANIZATION’S CHALLENGE:
Anne Krocak, Executive Director of Art, Heart and Hoofbeats, is looking for support to fine-tune her organization’s website with particular attention to visitor experience and accessibility. As time allows, she’d also like tech expertise in creating a roadmap for selling artwork through an online gallery on AHH’s website.
Currently, Anne feels that some glitches exist on the website hosted by Wix. With an audit from tech experts, she’d like to clean up any errors going forward. She also wants to make sure that it’s clear, from the website layout, what the organization does with horses, healing and art. Any simplifications that make their messaging easier to understand are appreciated. From the homepage, Anne feels that it’s hard to navigate to the class page and calendar especially for users on their cell phone. Reviewing site navigation and cell phone compatibility with tech experts will help her ensure users are finding the right information. Also, AHH participants can only sign the participation waiver on their phones. Anne would like to link or embed the form on the website as another option for completing. Finally, Anne has put some measures into place to make the website accessible by tagging images with words but would like recommendations on increasing accessibility for all users, which aligns with the organization’s mission.
As time allows, Anne would also like to review a framework for selling art on AHH’s website and create a roadmap for completing this project. Components she’d like thought partnership on include how to visually display the items for sale, selling original artwork vs. prints, print vendor considerations, and accepting payment through Wix. To be successful, this platform must be user-friendly and a light lift for staff to manage.
With a website audit focused on UX and accessibility, AHH can make website enhancements that include more people in their mission. Any time devoted to furthering the online artwork gallery will help the organization reach their goal of becoming sustainable.

This spot is for the Project Lead Role - Project Leads help facilitate the meetings, guiding the team through the agendas, keeping folks on task and conversation flowing, inclusive of all voices. Project leads do not need to have expertise in all aspects of the challenge but rather have strong leadership and facilitation skills. They will also help schedule the scoping call.
