Volunteer: Pack School Supplies for Underserved Schools around the Country!

Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) is finishing up our most impactful year ever! So far this year volunteers have helped pack over 100,000 backpacks and over 10,000 supply boxes for teachers and students around the country. We could not have done this without the support of volunteers like you. As the year comes to an end, we are making one more push to get supplies into the hands of teachers and students when they return to school after winter break. Please consider joining us to ensure every student has the supplies they need to succeed!

Our group volunteer sessions include a brief orientation, tour of the KINF Teacher Resource Center, and the volunteer session. Volunteer sessions consist of assembling backpacks or boxes with essential school supplies that will be delivered to qualifying under-resourced schools for our Supply A Student or our Supply A Teacher programs. Additional volunteer tasks include helping to prepare the products (taking items out of the packaging, sorting, etc.) for assembly, and/or sorting and organizing products for our KINF Teacher Resource Center.

Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), a nonprofit organization that believes every child in America deserves equal opportunity and access to a quality education, provides the support and tools needed for teachers to teach and learners to learn. By providing essential school supplies, distance learning resources, and other classroom items in high demand, KINF partners with teachers in underserved schools, with a focus on those with a student enrollment of 70 percent or more eligible for the National School Lunch Program, to ensure students are prepared to learn in the classroom.

Volunteer: Vigil Volunteer (Age 18 +)

Vigil Volunteers provide our patients and their caregivers/family with support during their final hours. Volunteers may provide companionship by simply being present with the patient who is dying or by providing support to family members who need a break from the bedside of their loved one.  Vigil Volunteers are vital to our hospice program, as no one should die alone.  A Vigil Volunteer is an active member of our hospice team.

We are actively recruiting Vigil Volunteers

What does a Vigil Volunteer provide to a patient and families:

A calm and reassuring presence.  Remember each family is different. Just be there for them and take your cues from them. There is no formula that will work every time.

A Vigil Volunteer is different than a respite volunteer because this service is offered in the last hours of life and is for a short duration of time

Vigil Volunteers are essential to the care and support we provide to our patients.
