Thank you for volunteering to support DYGI Drive, Midwest Sims, and the DYGI Gaming Truck at the Minnesota State Fair!

Volunteers will help welcome youth and families, share information about DYGI’s programs, assist visitors with the gaming truck and racing simulators, and help keep the experience organized, safe, and enjoyable.

Each year, Small Sums hosts the Stories Matter Fashion Show, an exciting evening that celebrates the workers who have experienced housing instability and are now on their path to stability! This event brings together fashion, storytelling, and community in a powerful way.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this night happen! Our models are individuals who've experienced housing instability and, with the support of Small Sums, are now equipped and empowered to enter the workforce! They will take the stage wearing both high-fashion designs and the work gear that helped them take the next step towards stability. As a volunteer, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and joyful experience for both our guests and models!

Volunteer Roles: 

- Set Up Crew (3:00 - 6:00 pm) 

Be a part of the team that sets the stage. Help transform the venue by setting up tables, chairs, signage, swag bags, food stations, and sponsor displays.

- Registration Crew (5:30 -7:30 pm)

Welcome guests with warmth, check them in, hand out drink tickets and name tags, and help guide them through the space. 

- Backstage Support (6:00 - 8:30 pm) 

This is where the magic happens! Support our models with outfit changes, ensure looks are runway-ready, assist with makeup, answer questions, and help solve those unexpected moments only backstage can bring! 

- Tear Down Crew (8:00 - 10:00) 

Help us end the night strong by packing up sponsor materials, folding up tables and chairs, and ensuring the space is left clean and cared for.  By volunteering, you're helping create a celebration that empowers individuals who have overcome extraordinary challenges. You'll be part of honoring their hard work and helping raise funds that will support others on a similar path. 

All volunteers will also receive a free ticket to the event!

At Small Sums, our mission is to equip individuals facing or at risk of homelessness with the necessary work gear, tools, training, and transportation to secure new employment. Our goal is to provide the essential resources that pave the way for lasting economic and housing stability.

Small Sums' Community Day is a special event dedicated to offering additional support to workers, helping them elevate their wages and improve their long-term prospects. This summer, we're excited to team up with our Community Partner, Wildflyer Coffee, for a Community Day focused on youth development and resources, connecting young people with tools and support to help them thrive.

We're looking for volunteers to assist with LinkedIn registration, resume building, interview prep, event setup and cleanup, food distribution, and helping attendees navigate the event. Whether you can lend a hand for a few hours or the entire day, your support will help create a welcoming and impactful experience for our community.

Help support our annual party with a purpose, Meals on Heels! Meals on Heels is a night of food, fun, and fashionable footwear to support Meals On Wheels and the delivery of over 1.5 million nutritious meals and home visits in the Twin Cities. Volunteers like you are the heart of Meals on Wheels, and this is a great opportunity to help out and enjoy a fun event!

When can I volunteer? Thursday, August 6, with flexible shifts from 1pm to 9pm. Volunteer for an hour, two hours, or for a timeframe that works for you.

Who can volunteer? Volunteers should be 21 and older and have access to their own transportation.

Where is the event? Meals on Heels will be at an event venue in Minneapolis. There are also opportunities to help load event equipment from our office in Downtown Minneapolis to the event space, a short drive of less than 2 miles away.

What will I be doing? Depending on your availability, volunteers can help with loading and transporting equipment, setting up chairs and décor, guest check-in, greeting guests, helping with games, and cleanup.

How do I get started? Once you apply, we will reach out to you and set up a time to chat about the volunteer opportunity by phone.

Join The Sanneh Foundation for our annual National Night Out celebration at the Conway Community Center on Tuesday, August 4, 2026!

National Night Out brings together neighbors, families, community organizations, and public safety partners for an evening of food, activities, and connection.

Volunteers help make the celebration possible by creating a fun and welcoming environment for everyone who attends. Opportunities include event set up, event support, grilling and serving food, and event tear down. Sign up for one shift or join us for multiple shifts throughout the event!

Join Reach for Resources as a volunteer for our Mental Health & Accessibility Fair! This free community event connects individuals, families, caregivers, and community members with resources related to mental health, disability services, advocacy, housing, employment, recreation, transportation, and civic engagement.

Volunteers will help create a welcoming and inclusive experience for attendees by assisting with event setup, greeting guests, directing attendees, supporting exhibitors, monitoring resource areas, and helping with cleanup at the end of the event.

A featured Mental Health Support in the Community Panel will take place from 6:00–6:45 p.m., bringing together local experts to discuss mental health resources and answer community questions.

This is a great opportunity to support accessibility, inclusion, and community connection while making a meaningful impact.

Hub Committee Volunteer Position Description

Great River Greening engages thousands of volunteers each year in hands-on restoration, environmental conservation, and community science-based programming. Our volunteer events take place across Minnesota, with a focus on the Twin Cities metro area, central Minnesota (from Blaine to Brainerd), and throughout Southern Minnesota.

We invite you to join our dedicated Volunteer Supervisor team as we expand restoration efforts across the state. As a Volunteer Supervisor, you'll develop valuable leadership and restoration skills while helping to lead and motivate groups of volunteers at our spring and fall restoration events.

Become a Volunteer Supervisor and help lead habitat restoration efforts with Great River Greening!

Volunteer Supervisors oversee small groups of around 10 volunteers during hands-on restoration projects. These activities typically include planting native grasses and forbs, tree and shrub planting, controlling invasive species, and broadcasting seeds.

The in-person training will be held at our main office in St. Paul.

In-person training is August 18 or join us virtually on August 20th, 2026 for an online training session!

Family Day 2026 is a cornerstone event of MNPOC Pride’s annual programming, focused on creating a safe, affirming, and culturally responsive space for LGBTQ+ people of color, youth, and families. Hosted in the heart of the community, this free public event brings together hundreds of attendees for a day of celebration, education, and resource-sharing.

The event includes live entertainment featuring local artists, a diverse range of community resource providers, health and wellness services including HIV testing and prevention education, youth-focused programming, and free food to reduce barriers to participation. Family Day prioritizes accessibility, cultural representation, and community healing, while fostering connections between attendees and essential services.

Through this event, MNPOC Pride aims to strengthen community bonds, increase access to critical resources, and create a visible, joyful space where LGBTQ+ people of color and their families are celebrated and supported.

Articulture is seeking to expand its Board of Directors -

Articulture, an arts education organization located in South Minneapolis, has a mission to "empower individuals and communities to create positive change through the visual arts". 

Our programs uphold this mission by providing opportunities to quality visual arts learning, serving a multitude of demographics to enable self-expression, skill building, and personal growth. Our Art and Healing partnerships with social service organizations gives arts opportunities to marginalized and vulnerable communities who otherwise would not have access to creative experiences. In addition to our occasional artist-residencies in the schools throughout the Metro area, we have ongoing partnerships in Minneapolis Public Schools with a number of local after school programs - sometimes being the only arts learning students receive. We are also presently partnering with People Serving People Shelter, specifically giving teens an opportunity for a creative outlet.   

Articulture's Board of Directors is a working board that relies on the experience and skills of board members to help support the mission and operations of the organization. Help us host this Wisdom Ways event for those interested in Indigenous stories, history, environmental care, and community dialogue. Building on the foundation of story, this gathering invites us into collective memory and truth-telling through a screening of The Last Wintercount by Sheldon Wolfchild. Through the tradition of winter counts, the film deepens our understanding of how history is carried forward—and how Indigenous knowledge shapes our relationship to land, time, and community.
Following the film, participants will engage in guided discussion and shared reflection.

The COUNT ME IN puppet show, offers an opportunity to promote a positive message, learn a unique style of puppetry and improve your presentation skills while working with a fun team.  Volunteers must have some daytime availability (about 4-5 hrs. a month), reliable transportation, the ability to memorize a script, and the desire engage with children!

Rein in Sarcoma: Party in the Park Day of Volunteer Help (Event Date is Monday, July 27, 2026 from 3:30 - 8 PM)

Position Overview
PRISM’s Summer Produce Distribution provides fresh, healthy produce to over 200 families every Tuesday afternoon during the summer months. The event is held in an indoor farmer's market-like environment, where community members come to receive fresh fruits and vegetables. The distribution is open to anyone in the community, with no zip code/residence or income requirements.

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support our efforts and help us continue to make this event a success. Volunteer groups of 15-20 people are needed for each distribution day. Dress Code: This event is outdoors; please dress for the weather. Long hair must be pulled back.

Free Fresh Food Fridays will take place on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of May through September. During each event, we transform our parking lot into a vibrant, farmers' market–style space where community members can select fresh produce at no cost. It’s an energetic and meaningful morning made possible by dedicated volunteers.  

Volunteers arrive at 7:30 a.m. for a brief welcome and orientation with our food shelf team, followed by setting up tents and preparing for distribution. From 9:00–11:00 a.m., volunteers assist in distributing fresh food to approximately 300–400 community members. Afterward, the team works together to clean up, with the event typically concluding by noon.  

Each event requires 40 volunteers, and it’s a fun, hands-on opportunity to make a real difference. Many teams enjoy the chance to serve side-by-side while supporting the community in a meaningful way.

Role Summary 

The Mission Delivery Volunteer provides flexible support across multiple program areas, assisting with patient outreach, administrative tasks, and data management. Safe Hands is looking to build a team of volunteers that enjoy attending various community events around the Twin Cities.  We are asked to participate in a number of events from parades to community days to art fairs and need a team of volunteers who enjoy attending these events, sharing information about Safe Hands and getting our mission out further.

If you are an outgoing person who is willing to attend events, under the direction of our Community Event Lead, please apply to volunteer now.  These are not adoption events, but occasionally we will have foster animals at the events so you may get to interact with them as well.

You may be responsible for helping set-up/teardown the event, that may include a pop-up tent, table and x-pens.  During the event you may be asked to mind animals, run a game, talk to people about Safe Hands mission or various other duties as directed by the event lead.

Help us educate MCFM visitors about compostable plastics, manage composting stations, and collect data for our Zero Waste program! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in our efforts by volunteering as a Zero Waste Educator. There’s no need to be an expert - we train volunteers on the basics at the start of each shift. 10am - 1:15pm every Saturday May-October. Help HOTC's project team prepare for the hundreds of high quality volunteer events hosted annually. Each week brings new projects, new supplies and new adventures, and we are looking for volunteers to help work behind the scenes to help project preparation run smoothly. Volunteer tasks and responsibilities typically include:

Volunteering at HOTC is best suited for volunteers ages 14+. Those under the age of 18 must provide HOTC with signed permissions from a parent/guardian to volunteer. Many volunteer roles include lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, lifting, twisting, and standing, but accommodations for low-impact tasks can easily be arranged. We welcome teams for this event, and can be flexible up to 8 volunteers.  Volunteer shifts take place every Wednesday from 9AM-12PM. We can be flexible for groups as well.

We are always looking for individuals who are willing to donate their time to the Boys & Girls Clubs. Individuals can assist with programming in our three priority areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Activities include homework help, assistance and mentorship during academic programming, recreation, athletics, college and career readiness, and art. We also welcome individuals who have a special skill or talent that they would like share with our Club members. 

All volunteers must pass a background check.

Typically, there is a minimum commitment of 2 hours a week or 8 hours a month.  

Program hours during regular school days take place from 2:00-9:00pm; most need for volunteers is between 2:00-7:00pm. Program hours during any day that school is closed (i.e. summer break, spring break, winter break, etc.) take place from 8:00am-5:30pm. All programming occurs Monday-Friday.

There are various Club sites throughout the Twin Cities, including 5 Clubs in Minneapolis, 3 Clubs in Saint Paul, and 2 Clubs in Richfield, in addition to our residential camp (Voyageur Environmental Center) in Mound, MN.

Friends of Crystal Parks is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to make the City of Crystal an even better place to raise a family or grow a business.  Funds raised through Friends of Crystal Parks events improve the City of Crystal's parks; and is fun to be a part of.  Plus, more volunteers makes for better events - and better parks!  One of their annual contributions is to purchase trees to hand out at the city's annual Arbor Day Event on the first Wednesday in May.  Other donations to projects are also made.

Friends of Crystal Parks currently hosts various events each year; including a plant sale the Saturday prior to Memorial Day weekend.  Additional fundraising ideas are being sought.  The group also provides information on ways to support Crystal's parks at the annual Crystal Frolics Family Festival on the last Saturday of July.  The Friends of Crystal Parks Board meets monthly September through May at the Crystal Community Center - all are welcome!  To learn more about this group, please visit:  www.friendsofcrystalparks.org.

There is no doubt the world has changed since 2020, but something that has increased is volunteerism. Since COVID, FamilyWise no longer has the constant volunteer opportunities we used to. In response to having opportunities but not having the people to help, we want to start a FamilyWise Volunteer on-call directory. Essentially, when we have an opportunity, whether it be something one person can do for an hour or a group can do for a day, I will send it out to the directory and see if anyone is available. The American Cancer Society is a volunteer lead organization, engaging with employees in the community across the business sector, from small, to mid-size to large companies. We engage with employees through events and work place activities. We are looking for expertise around developing a strategy to enhance our employee engagement in the Twin Cities.

We serve a week's worth of groceries to those facing hunger in our community. Volunteers help set up the site for the day's distribution. Children are welcome with adult supervision.

POSITION TITLE: Fight For Air Climb Committee Member

WHAT IS FIGHT FOR AIR CLIMB EVENT: A unique fundraising event where teams and individuals from all fitness levels take to the stairs to support the American Lung Association.

POSITION SUMMARY: Works closely with staff and volunteer leaders to promote the Fight For Air Climb throughout the community, recruit new climb teams, engage new corporate partners, and provide input to enhance the event day experience.

Help us with Publicity and Marketing. Specifically, we are looking for people to help us get the word out around the state about the important work we do! We would really appreciate having several people “on call” whom we can contact about upcoming events or humane cases so they can contact the media and help us obtain some much-needed publicity. 

Fundraising:

Art, Heart and Hoofbeats - Equine Rescue and Sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that runs entirely on donations. We are always on the look out for help in procuring monetary donations and sponsorship, both private and corporate. We also often need individuals to collect donations of goods and services for special events (for example, gift cards and items for silent auctions). We have also received many wonderful donations from clubs, groups, and individuals who have chosen to hold a “AHH Benefit” Event. Some ideas for this would be fun shows, tack sales, rummage sales, bake sales, or informational booths at local feed or tack stores. If you are interested in holding this sort of fundraiser to help the horses and people served at AHH, please let us know!

Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LOTT) is currently recruiting a talented volunteer photographer who is passionate about empowering women leaders. 

LOTT’s mission is to ignite women to lead with confidence. We do this through a six-month fellowship that includes workshops, a mentor pairing, personal development plans, and a community-based project. All aspects of the fellowship are free to participants.

We are looking for a talented photographer who can attend occasional events and take high-quality photos that capture the energy, connection, and impact of our programs. These images will be used in our marketing materials, website, social media, and future publications.

ComoConnects would love a volunteer to come help us with our monthly drum circle!  We meet at St. Timothy Lutheran church @ 1pm for a community drum circle and we would love a reliable  volunteer to come a little early to help set up, greet and tear down. Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) includes a wide array of services to support children, adults, and seniors by a caring and dedicated team. In offering your time, talents, or donations to MORA, you help to create a stronger community that values empowerment and belonging for ALL.

Every Sunday, MORA offers a faith service that is accessible to all our participants at our Victoria office location. Volunteers would be responsible for greeting, starting a facebook livestream (super easy!) and setting out donuts/lemonade. Services generally have approximately 10-30 individuals with direct services staff always available.

Share the History & Mystery of Anoka as a Ghosts of Anoka tour guide in the Halloween Capital of the World!

We're looking for engaging, personable humans to join or Ghost Tour Guide team - folk who are comfortable leading groups of 20-25 on an approximately mile long walking tour around the city of Anoka. A script is provided for guides to learn the facts and stories, but are encouraged to put the stories into their own words with personality. Tours run between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on the guide and walking speed of the group. 

The tour began in 2004, and has grown to be the largest fundraiser for the Anoka County Museum. A team of guides help us lead over 70 tours in September and October. Guests come from all around the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and states across the country as part of the Anoka Halloween activities. 

This is a volunteer position.

To participate in Pup-up events as a volunteer in one of the following capacities: Information Table, Greeter, or Minder.  Pup-up events are often done as employee appreciation events for a business.  We bring puppies or dogs (they do not need to be adoptable) for the staff to cuddle and the business makes a donation directly to Safe Hands for us to do this.  Need to be flexible with role assignments, as these events are small and everyone needs to pitch in where needed.

Are you looking for a fun volunteer opportunity, and a chance to work directly with the families being served? We are currently looking to recruit volunteers to help us with our monthly "Family Game Nights" and "Family Movie Nights" at People Serving People's downtown shelter. 

The Family Engagement Program aims to provide stress relief, community building and meaning making for families living in shelter by building an engrossing, entertaining and enriching menu of family activities. 

Tasks include assisting staff in the set-up and cleanup of the event, facilitate games for children and families, participate in activities alongside families, and distributing/restocking snacks and beverages. In addition, volunteers may be asked to help with check-in to track total number of families participating and to welcome families to the engagement. 

 The event is an "open house” activity for families, meaning the amount of participation for our guests may vary. We ask our volunteers to be adaptable to PSP to changes in need or activities as they arise.

These events are open to all our families, though you will primarily be working with children between the ages of 6 -12. We welcome volunteers to bring any age appropriate games that they'd like to offer to guests at our shelter!

General Description

Help us showcase what Minnesota natives have to offer while supporting healthy habitats in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Habitat Stewards focus on maintaining designated areas that have been planted with native grasses and wildflowers in highly visible areas of our parks. These locations provide pollinator habitat as well as serve as demonstration gardens for park visitors that will hopefully inspire folks to “go native” in their own backyards.

Tasks will vary for each shift but will include general garden maintenance such as weeding, pruning, watering, planting, etc. No knowledge of plants or gardening is needed, in fact, volunteers will learn about plant identification, gardening skills, and habitat restoration practices related to native plants during their time in the gardens by seasoned professionals and county staff.

Great program for all ages and walks of life - many hands make lighter work. A tidy garden is an eye-catching way for people to learn more about pollinators and pollinating plants and the important roles they play in our lives. Help us keep this area bloomin’ and boomin’!

Duties & Responsibilities

Volunteers will assist Parks staff and volunteer leads in maintaining native plantings in high-use areas of the park. Activities will vary but will include planting, watering and weeding. You will also get a chance to learn about plant identification and native gardening skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to walk through tall vegetation and on uneven terrain. Children are welcome to accompany their grown-ups. Tools, gloves and training will be provided.

Age Requirements 

All ages are welcomed to attend but we do encourage participants to be at least 5 years old or older to properly enjoy the event. If minors want to volunteer by themselves, they need to be 16 years old or older.

Minimum Time Commitment

Shifts will be 2-3 hours. You are welcome to sign-up for as many shifts as you are available for.

Activity Level – If working outside or non-office work.

The Salvation Army is seeking additional volunteers to serve on our Advisory Board. We are seeking individuals who are currently employed at larger Twin Cities' corporations, including Target, General Mills, 3M, Medtronic, Travelers, etc. Experience in marketing, finance, or fundraising is welcomed.

Terms are 3 years, with a personal financial contribution and regular attendance at meetings and events.

The Salvation Army Northern Division provides food, shelter, and care to residents of Minnesota and North Dakota without discrimination.

The Salvation Army Booth Manor Senior Housing Facility (1421 Yale Place Minneapolis) is in need of volunteers to help with unloading a large food delivery for an internal food distribution event. Volunteers will need to be able to lift, carry, and unpack food boxes averaging 25-40 lbs for the duration of the shift.

Available shifts: Every 1st or 3rd Friday of the month and/or 1 Tuesday/month

Volunteers will need to be available 1-2 times each month for at least 3 months; a background check is required prior to first shift.

Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) is there when disaster strikes. Most often this means providing hydration and food service to first responders and victims at local fires or larger disasters such as tornadoes or floods. Whatever the circumstance, EDS relief efforts are supporting communities in times of significant need.

Volunteers are needed for both behind the scenes and front-line disaster work. While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Program consists of several basic provisions: food service, donations management, emergency communications, disaster case management and emotional and spiritual care. This position requires a willingness to work on-call.

We welcome adult volunteers of all ages to serve at varying levels - from time commitments of just a few hours each month to being available at a moment’s notice.

The Salvation Army E Lake Street South Minneapolis location serves families and individuals in need through Food Shelf appointments (9-12 &1-3 pm) Monday through Friday.

Volunteers are needed to help pack boxes/bags of food, assist with unloading food deliveries, stocking the pantry, and sanitizing food distribution areas among other tasks. A volunteer bilingual in Spanish and English would be an asset to this location as they serve a large population of Spanish speaking clients.

General Description

It takes time and money to handle all the waste we throw away.  When we reduce the amount of stuff we buy and eventually throw away, we end up with more time, space and money.  Fix-It Clinics provide an opportunity for residents to receive free assistance from repair savvy volunteers guiding them through each step from troubleshooting to completed repair.

Several volunteer opportunities are available to help at a Fix-It Clinic. Volunteer fixers who have skills in soldering, electronics repair, electrical repair, sewing, wood working and general tinkering are essential to making the clinics successful. General volunteers to greet residents are needed as well.
