Look no further! We have a big fancy party called the Fetching Ball Gala on April 11 and we would love your help!

We would like you to use your own camera equipment for this role. We will provide you with a shot list before the event.

It would be excellent if you can provide the images to us within a couple of weeks following the event. 

The Fraser Festival, presented by Central Roofing Company, is a sensory-friendly event that champions acceptance and inclusion in our community! The festival is May 2, 2026, 9 am - 1:00 pm. at Saint Paul RiverCentre in St. Paul. A sensory-friendly community event that celebrates acceptance and inclusion for people with autism, mental/behavioral health needs, disabilities, and neurodivergence.

As a volunteer at this event you, we ask you to commit to a 3 - 4-hour shift where you may engage with up to 700 people. You will be assigned to an area of the festival that will be agreed upon ahead of time. Different areas can include garden, STEM, silent disco, sports, slime, face painting, rock climbing, popcorn station, bracelet making activities and more. A light breakfast, lunch and parking will be provided.

Hennepin Healthcare is hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 9am – 1pm as part of Doors Open Minneapolis. This is ideal for children who are between 2 – 8 years old. Since children learn and express themselves through play, the aim is to educate and entertain them at a series of 12+ interactive stations to help normalize a medical experience. Children bring their Teddy Bears (or any stuffed animal) to the event and follow the “prescription” checklist (for their teddy to get stitches, x-rays, a bandage, hearing test, dentist visit and more). They also have the opportunity to tour of an ambulance and a fire truck. Free parking available in the Clinic and Specialty Center’s underground garage (entrance is at 821 Park Ave, Minneapolis). Help HOTC's project team prepare for the hundreds of high quality volunteer events hosted annually. Each week brings new projects, new supplies and new adventures, and we are looking for volunteers to help work behind the scenes to help project preparation run smoothly. Volunteer tasks and responsibilities typically include:

Volunteering at HOTC is best suited for volunteers ages 14+. Those under the age of 18 must provide HOTC with signed permissions from a parent/guardian to volunteer. Many volunteer roles include lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, lifting, twisting, and standing, but accommodations for low-impact tasks can easily be arranged. We welcome teams for this event, and can be flexible up to 8 volunteers.  Volunteer shifts take place every Wednesday from 9AM-12PM. We can be flexible for groups as well.

Wilder regularly tables at community events to raise visibility for Wilder. These events are crucial for outreach and establishing trust within the community. We are seeking volunteer support to help increase our capacity and ability to attend more events.

Tabling Ambassadors will volunteer on an as needed basis to attend community events representing Wilder. You’ll sign up for the events you are available for, attend a brief training, and support at the event. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about Wilder , especially Wilder Community Mental Health & Wellness, and share that knowledge with others. The ideal volunteer will have strong communication skills and be passionate about Wilder’s mission.

Pre/Post-Festival Opportunities Marketing (Pre-Fest): Use your social media savvy and help distribute printed materials to promote this exciting event.

Pre-Fest Set-Up and Decoration: Assist in transforming the festival grounds and Mead Hall on Thursday afternoon, evening, or Friday before 6 PM. We need creative individuals who can use tools, lift up to 50 lbs, and ensure the festival looks amazing.

We have two new openings for Groups Assistant Volunteers! 

This is a recurring weekly volunteer shift where you will be scheduled for either Wednesday or Thursday mornings 8:45am- 11:45 am. We are always looking for individuals who are willing to donate their time to the Boys & Girls Clubs. Individuals can assist with programming in our three priority areas: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Activities include homework help, assistance and mentorship during academic programming, recreation, athletics, college and career readiness, and art. We also welcome individuals who have a special skill or talent that they would like share with our Club members. 

All volunteers must pass a background check.

Typically, there is a minimum commitment of 2 hours a week or 8 hours a month.  

Program hours during regular school days take place from 2:00-9:00pm; most need for volunteers is between 2:00-7:00pm. Program hours during any day that school is closed (i.e. summer break, spring break, winter break, etc.) take place from 8:00am-5:30pm. All programming occurs Monday-Friday.

There are various Club sites throughout the Twin Cities, including 5 Clubs in Minneapolis, 3 Clubs in Saint Paul, and 2 Clubs in Richfield, in addition to our residential camp (Voyageur Environmental Center) in Mound, MN.

Friends of Crystal Parks is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to make the City of Crystal an even better place to raise a family or grow a business.  Funds raised through Friends of Crystal Parks events improve the City of Crystal's parks; and is fun to be a part of.  Plus, more volunteers makes for better events - and better parks!  One of their annual contributions is to purchase trees to hand out at the city's annual Arbor Day Event on the first Wednesday in May.  Other donations to projects are also made.

Friends of Crystal Parks currently hosts various events each year; including a plant sale the Saturday prior to Memorial Day weekend.  Additional fundraising ideas are being sought.  The group also provides information on ways to support Crystal's parks at the annual Crystal Frolics Family Festival on the last Saturday of July.  The Friends of Crystal Parks Board meets monthly September through May at the Crystal Community Center - all are welcome!  To learn more about this group, please visit:  www.friendsofcrystalparks.org.

There is no doubt the world has changed since 2020, but something that has increased is volunteerism. Since COVID, FamilyWise no longer has the constant volunteer opportunities we used to. In response to having opportunities but not having the people to help, we want to start a FamilyWise Volunteer on-call directory. Essentially, when we have an opportunity, whether it be something one person can do for an hour or a group can do for a day, I will send it out to the directory and see if anyone is available. FamilyWise will also be restarting the Volunteer Newsletter this summer where opportunities will also be shared.

The American Cancer Society is a volunteer lead organization, engaging with employees in the community across the business sector, from small, to mid-size to large companies. We engage with employees through events and work place activities. We are looking for expertise around developing a strategy to enhance our employee engagement in the Twin Cities.

We are looking for volunteers to join us at the State Fair for a unique volunteer opportunity!

Our organization is across the street from the State Fair grounds and on the first day of the fair (Thursday August 27, 2026) we accompany our residents from Lyngblomsten Care Center to the fair for a few hours.

Here is some important things to know:

We collect gently used and new shoes through our Shoe Away Hunger program and sell them for a suggested donation on our mobile shoe bus and trailer and at various static sites.

We sort these shoes into three categories (great, good, and grind) at our warehouse in Plymouth on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12 to 3:00 p.m. We would love for you or your group to join us in sorting shoes! Friends and groups love to do this. We help a lot of people, laugh, and have a lot of fun doing this very important job!

We serve a week's worth of groceries to those facing hunger in our community. Volunteers help set up the site for the day's distribution. Children are welcome with adult supervision.

The Kouba Gallery hosts a welcoming monthly Open House on the second Sunday of each month from 1–4 pm, and we’re looking for a few helpers for setup, light hospitality, and cleanup at our upcoming shows.

By simply being present, you help make the Kouba Gallery accessible and alive. Your calm welcome allows people to linger with the art, return again, and feel that this space belongs to them.

This is one of the most essential roles in the gallery — and one of the most peaceful.

These persons will assist the festival attendees as they arrive and attend the festival.

The work might include greeting attendees as they arrive, handing out programs for the festival, answering questions that arise, and watching over the music instrument cases and other belongings of the musicians while they perform.

We are pre boxing food to provide a week's worth of groceries to those facing hunger in our communities. We need volunteers to help us get set up for the food distribution event (12-2 pm). This will include receiving food from the local food banks and organizing the food for the distribution that evening.

POSITION TITLE: Fight For Air Climb Committee Member

WHAT IS FIGHT FOR AIR CLIMB EVENT: A unique fundraising event where teams and individuals from all fitness levels take to the stairs to support the American Lung Association.

POSITION SUMMARY: Works closely with staff and volunteer leaders to promote the Fight For Air Climb throughout the community, recruit new climb teams, engage new corporate partners, and provide input to enhance the event day experience.

Help us with Publicity and Marketing. Specifically, we are looking for people to help us get the word out around the state about the important work we do! We would really appreciate having several people “on call” whom we can contact about upcoming events or humane cases so they can contact the media and help us obtain some much-needed publicity. 

Fundraising:

Art, Heart and Hoofbeats - Equine Rescue and Sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that runs entirely on donations. We are always on the look out for help in procuring monetary donations and sponsorship, both private and corporate. We also often need individuals to collect donations of goods and services for special events (for example, gift cards and items for silent auctions). We have also received many wonderful donations from clubs, groups, and individuals who have chosen to hold a “AHH Benefit” Event. Some ideas for this would be fun shows, tack sales, rummage sales, bake sales, or informational booths at local feed or tack stores. If you are interested in holding this sort of fundraiser to help the horses and people served at AHH, please let us know!

Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LOTT) is currently recruiting a talented volunteer photographer who is passionate about empowering women leaders. 

LOTT’s mission is to ignite women to lead with confidence. We do this through a six-month fellowship that includes workshops, a mentor pairing, personal development plans, and a community-based project. All aspects of the fellowship are free to participants.

We are looking for a talented photographer who can attend occasional events and take high-quality photos that capture the energy, connection, and impact of our programs. These images will be used in our marketing materials, website, social media, and future publications.

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres (MORA) includes a wide array of services to support children, adults, and seniors by a caring and dedicated team. In offering your time, talents, or donations to MORA, you help to create a stronger community that values empowerment and belonging for ALL.

Every Sunday, MORA offers a faith service that is accessible to all our participants at our Victoria office location. Share the History & Mystery of Anoka as a Ghosts of Anoka tour guide in the Halloween Capital of the World!

We're looking for engaging, personable humans to join or Ghost Tour Guide team - folk who are comfortable leading groups of 20-25 on an approximately mile long walking tour around the city of Anoka. A script is provided for guides to learn the facts and stories, but are encouraged to put the stories into their own words with personality. Tours run between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on the guide and walking speed of the group. 

The tour began in 2004, and has grown to be the largest fundraiser for the Anoka County Museum. A team of guides help us lead over 70 tours in September and October. Guests come from all around the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and states across the country as part of the Anoka Halloween activities. 

This is a volunteer position.

Young Authors Conference (YAC) gives 4th-8th grade students the opportunity to learn from professionals with real writing experience. Students attend a keynote address and three interactive writing sessions led by local fiction and non-fiction writers. Students leave YAC with a greater passion to write and a new set of strategies and ideas with which to experiment.

Volunteers are needed to assist with lunch, guide students on campus, monitor the book fair and open mic, and ensure that students have a fun and exciting day! Volunteers can bring a student to participate for free.

The Young Authors Conference runs from May 27 - May 29, but you can commit to any day (or every day) that you are available.

Mill City Farmers Market is a Zero Waste farmers market, meaning everything that is served to you at the market—even the straws, cups and forks that look like plastic—are made from compostable materials. By composting sampling supplies, to-go containers and other prepared food and beverage serve ware, our weekly event diverts 93-98% of its waste from the landfill. This program allows MCFM to minimize our carbon footprint and strengthen our commitment to sustainability. At an industrial composting facility, compostables (food scraps, paper plates, bowls, and cups, and compostables) are converted into nutrient-rich soil, reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. This program is possible thanks to help of volunteers!

To participate in Pup-up events as a volunteer in one of the following capacities: Information Table, Greeter, or Minder.  Pup-up events are often done as employee appreciation events for a business.  We bring puppies or dogs (they do not need to be adoptable) for the staff to cuddle and the business makes a donation directly to Safe Hands for us to do this.  Need to be flexible with role assignments, as these events are small and everyone needs to pitch in where needed.

Are you looking for a fun volunteer opportunity, and a chance to work directly with the families being served? We are currently looking to recruit volunteers to help us with our monthly "Family Game Nights" and "Family Movie Nights" at People Serving People's downtown shelter. 

The Family Engagement Program aims to provide stress relief, community building and meaning making for families living in shelter by building an engrossing, entertaining and enriching menu of family activities. 

Tasks include assisting staff in the set-up and cleanup of the event, facilitate games for children and families, participate in activities alongside families, and distributing/restocking snacks and beverages. In addition, volunteers may be asked to help with check-in to track total number of families participating and to welcome families to the engagement. 

 The event is an "open house” activity for families, meaning the amount of participation for our guests may vary. We ask our volunteers to be adaptable to PSP to changes in need or activities as they arise.

These events are open to all our families, though you will primarily be working with children between the ages of 6 -12. We welcome volunteers to bring any age appropriate games that they'd like to offer to guests at our shelter!

General Description

Help us showcase what Minnesota natives have to offer while supporting healthy habitats in Lebanon Hills Regional Park. Habitat Stewards focus on maintaining designated areas that have been planted with native grasses and wildflowers in highly visible areas of our parks. These locations provide pollinator habitat as well as serve as demonstration gardens for park visitors that will hopefully inspire folks to “go native” in their own backyards.

Tasks will vary for each shift but will include general garden maintenance such as weeding, pruning, watering, planting, etc. No knowledge of plants or gardening is needed, in fact, volunteers will learn about plant identification, gardening skills, and habitat restoration practices related to native plants during their time in the gardens by seasoned professionals and county staff.

Great program for all ages and walks of life - many hands make lighter work. A tidy garden is an eye-catching way for people to learn more about pollinators and pollinating plants and the important roles they play in our lives. Help us keep this area bloomin’ and boomin’!

Duties & Responsibilities

Volunteers will assist Parks staff and volunteer leads in maintaining native plantings in high-use areas of the park. Activities will vary but will include planting, watering and weeding. You will also get a chance to learn about plant identification and native gardening skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to walk through tall vegetation and on uneven terrain. Children are welcome to accompany their grown-ups. Tools, gloves and training will be provided.

Age Requirements 

All ages are welcomed to attend but we do encourage participants to be at least 5 years old or older to properly enjoy the event. If minors want to volunteer by themselves, they need to be 16 years old or older.

Minimum Time Commitment

Shifts will be 2-3 hours. You are welcome to sign-up for as many shifts as you are available for.

Activity Level – If working outside or non-office work.

Medium - May involve varying amounts of activity (rough terrain, and moderate physical exertion, bending over to pull weeds). May not be recommended for volunteers with physical limitations. Comfortable, sturdy shoes and long pants required.

The Salvation Army is seeking additional volunteers to serve on our Advisory Board. We are seeking individuals who are currently employed at larger Twin Cities' corporations, including Target, General Mills, 3M, Medtronic, Travelers, etc. Experience in marketing, finance, or fundraising is welcomed.

Terms are 3 years, with a personal financial contribution and regular attendance at meetings and events.

The Salvation Army Northern Division provides food, shelter, and care to residents of Minnesota and North Dakota without discrimination.

The Salvation Army Booth Manor Senior Housing Facility (1421 Yale Place Minneapolis) is in need of volunteers to help with unloading a large food delivery for an internal food distribution event. Volunteers will need to be able to lift, carry, and unpack food boxes averaging 25-40 lbs for the duration of the shift.

Available shifts: Every 1st or 3rd Friday of the month and/or 1 Tuesday/month

Volunteers will need to be available 1-2 times each month for at least 3 months; a background check is required prior to first shift.

Most often this means providing hydration and food service to first responders and victims at local fires or larger disasters such as tornadoes or floods. Whatever the circumstance, EDS relief efforts are supporting communities in times of significant need.

Volunteers are needed for both behind the scenes and front-line disaster work. While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Program consists of several basic provisions: food service, donations management, emergency communications, disaster case management and emotional and spiritual care. This position requires a willingness to work on-call.

We welcome adult volunteers of all ages to serve at varying levels - from time commitments of just a few hours each month to being available at a moment’s notice.

Join us during our basketball programs as a community center attendant. You will assist with monitoring participants, directing traffic within the facility, and helping to provide a fun and safe environment for attendees while cheering on the teams. 

Shifts are available Mondays for youth gym activities from 5-7 pm and 6-8 pm as well as Tuesdays for adult pick-up games from 5-7 pm and 7-9 pm. 

Volunteers for this opportunity need to commit to serving weekly for 3 months, with an option to extend service.

The Salvation Army E Lake Street South Minneapolis location serves families and individuals in need through Food Shelf appointments (9-12 &1-3 pm) Monday through Friday.

Volunteers are needed to help pack boxes/bags of food, assist with unloading food deliveries, stocking the pantry, and sanitizing food distribution areas among other tasks. A volunteer bilingual in Spanish and English would be an asset to this location as they serve a large population of Spanish speaking clients.

The Event Coordinator and Pawsitivity Squad is responsible for helping coordinate and lead community, adoption, and fundraising events for Pet Haven. 

General Description

Enjoy the outdoors while also assisting park visitors with questions, directions and first aid care. Our patrol units offer a vital service to the trail programs by being trained individuals who are onsite to assist our park users with day to day operations and emergencies. General Description

It takes time and money to handle all the waste we throw away.  When we reduce the amount of stuff we buy and eventually throw away, we end up with more time, space and money.  Fix-It Clinics provide an opportunity for residents to receive free assistance from repair savvy volunteers guiding them through each step from troubleshooting to completed repair.

Several volunteer opportunities are available to help at a Fix-It Clinic. Volunteer fixers who have skills in soldering, electronics repair, electrical repair, sewing, wood working and general tinkering are essential to making the clinics successful. General volunteers to greet residents are needed as well.

Locations change each month and are hosted at various sites across Dakota County. Clinics usually are held on the third Saturday or Sunday of the month in the afternoons. Check the Dakota County Fix-It Clinic page for upcoming clinics.

Mount Olivet Day Services (MODS) is an adult day program offering respite care to seniors where everyone can socialize and enjoy planned activities in a safe group setting. This provides family caregivers a much-needed break, enabling loved ones to be cared for at home for a longer period of time

Speakers are the messengers who carry important information and resources that can save lives to the public. Raising awareness about lung cancer may take place through presentations given at service clubs, faith communities, brown bag lunches at businesses or neighborhood gatherings. Every time vital information is passed to new people, we have made a step forward. In this role, you will work with staff to share information about lung cancer and ABOH to community groups and at community events.

Lung cancer carries an unkind stigma that often leaves patients feeling shamed and blamed. A Breath of Hope (ABOH) works to reduce this stigma and Increase lung cancer awareness and education to reduce late stage diagnoses, especially in low income communities where lung cancer is most prevalent.

Time Commitment

Speakers have the freedom to volunteer as often as they wish and may say no when the requested opportunity doesn’t work for them. ABOH does not require a minimum time commitment.

The Adopt-a-Highway Program looks for volunteers to collect litter along designated segments of County highways to help keep roadsides clean. Coordination of the program and supplies (safety vests, trash bags and training) are provided by the Dakota County Transportation Department.

Getting Started

Individuals or groups commit to cleaning up their designated roadway segment as a onetime commitment or more. To apply, fill out a volunteer application and we will review the section of road desired to make sure it is open for adoption. Once your application clears, your group is ready to go!

The Transportation Department maintenance crew will pick up and dispose of filled bags and other debris, left at the side of the road.

Free Recognition Signs

Individuals or groups agreeing to contribute time to clean up the roadway twice a year (spring & fall) for a minimum of two years, will receive a 24” by 30” recognition signs, installed free for their contribution. One recognition sign is placed for a minimum one mile commitment. Two signs are placed for a minimum two miles or more commitment.

The Master Water Stewards program certifies and supports community leaders to protect and improve the health of MN's water. Wherever you live, you can join over 250 Master Water Steward volunteers and work in our own community to contribute to the millions of gallons of polluted stormwater that stewards are keeping out of our lakes and rivers each year.

Everything on city streets flows to our water- bacteria, salt, litter, sediment, fertilizer. Each year, more polluted runoff reach our lakes and rivers faster, causing flooding downstream. Pollutants are not being filtered or broken down by passing through the soil, making water dirtier.

The Event Check-In Manager Volunteer assists K-8th grade students and their families before they move on to the STEM Saturday event activities.

Event Check-In Manager Tasks:

• Check-in event participants and their guardians/parents

• Ensure completion of the Northside STEM media release and Release of Liability forms

• Provide wristbands and raffle tickets to corresponding age groups

• Assist with clean-up of the registration area at 12pm
