Project Leader Advocates will provide county-level leadership, voice, & oversight over a project area development. Whether creating a project club, short-term learning series, or project workshop, Project Leader Advocates help youth develop important skills sets and explore potential careers. Current project area leadership needs include:

Animal science and livestock (especially cats, chickens, cow, or veterinary science) Gardening and agriculture Global citizenship & social justice Family consumer science (especially sewing and quilting) Fine arts and crafts Food & nutrition Outdoor recreation and environmental education Performing arts Space exploration STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and math)

Commitment: 4-8 hours/month, 1 year commitment 

Paid: $500 annual stipend

Working with our youngest 4-H members in kindergarten through grade 2 can be especially rewarding and fun for volunteers.  Along with providing a great learning experience for young people, Cloverbud coordinators work with families and engage them in 4-H to make sure Cloverbuds get the most from the program. They also work with club leaders to integrate Cloverbud activities with older youth.

Locations: All or at some existing clubs 

Project areas: STEM, Fine Arts & Crafts  

Commitment: 2-4 hours/month, 3 month commitment minimum

Are you an expert in your field? An avid crafts- or tradesperson? An artist? Help and support youth develop important skills sets in your field! Involve youth in becoming competent, caring, and connected citizens of character in their community. Visit a club meeting and share your expertise through a structured learning experience.

Commitment: 4-6 hours/month, 1-3 month month commitment minimum

Our program supports youth and clubs in rural, suburban, and urban settings. We are committed to evolving with community needs and being present in as many communities of our county as possible. We currently are in need of volunteers to start their own clubs in:

Locations: Richfield, Bloomington, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, South Minneapolis, Rogers, North Minneapolis

Project areas: STEM, Fine Arts & Crafts, Environment & Outdoors, Space Exploration 

Commitment: 4-8 hours/month, 1 year commitment minimum

Calling all aspiring graphic designers, public relations, and business marketing majors and professionals! Help Hennepin 4-H maintain and enhance our online and social media presence to current and new external audiences. Support club, program and fundraising events. Creativity is preferred! 

Commitment: 5-8 hours/month, 1 year commitment minimum

Seeking a strong and motivated leader who will co-supervise and sustain our programmatic finances. The Financial Stewardship Advocate will ensure good, responsible fiscal planning, decision-making, and oversight, which supports innovative, high-quality 4-H youth programming opportunities in Hennepin County. Quickbooks experience required; additional training in 4-H administrative logistics will be provided.

Commitment: 8 hours/month, 1 year commitment minimum

Paid: $500 annual stipend
