Our mission is “To inspire community by empowering people impacted by disabilities to live their best life.” PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Board Members will utilize personal and professional skills, relationships and knowledge for the advancement of Wingspan Life Resources. There is a 3-year commitment and duties include but are not limited to: Attend Board orientation and a Program visit. Attend a majority of quarterly Board meetings (typically held on the third Thursday of the month). Prepare in advance for decision-making and policy formation at Board meetings; take responsibility for self-education on the major issues before the Board. Strategic planning with occasional task or committee work, special meetings, or training. Ensure strong fiduciary oversight and financial management. Responsibly review and act upon committee/task force recommendations brought to the Board for action. Actively seek to engage members of the community as volunteers and/or donors. Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission. Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action. Give a meaningful personal financial donation. Sponsor our Power of Love event with a goal of filling at least one table of 10.
