In 1-2 hours per week, while volunteering from your home, you can build ongoing relationships and help older adults continue living in their homes. You choose the day and time, and we'll match you with clients who fit that schedule. Call and take their grocery orders over the phone and enter the items in an online ordering system on your home computer or tablet. 

We're looking for volunteers who love seniors and have a good degree of comfort on the computer. Knowledge of grocery products is a plus.

Can you set aside two hours once or twice a month to give a

senior a helping hand in their home?

Help At Your Door, a nonprofit serving seniors, is in need of volunteers to assist with chores. Tasks can vary based on client needs and volunteer skills, such as dusting, vacuuming, general tidying, organization, and other home-cleaning tasks.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also a volunteer.  Pair up with a friend or family member and spend quality time volunteering together!

Are you handy with a hammer, paint brush, or drill?

Would you like to help seniors remain in their homes as they age?

Help At Your Door is looking for volunteers interested in helping with some fix-it tasks in client homes. Tasks may include things such as: painting and staining, furniture assembly, minor drywall or carpentry repair, installation of window coverings, interior winterization, installation of door hardware, and a variety of "odd jobs". We will match you with client jobs according to your skills, availability and geographic preferences in the Twin Cities Metro Area.

Our clients are primarily seniors who need help to do some basic home maintenance tasks. With your help, they can remain vivacious and supported in life, while also providing their families with the knowledge and security to ensure that their home is the best place for them to be.

Drive as little as two times per month or as often as you’d like on a weekday schedule that you determine. Rides are provided from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Enjoy the companionship of seniors and the knowledge that you are providing an essential service.

Volunteers help double-check each cart, assist with the check-out process, and help pack the groceries into totes to be ready for delivery. Shoppers do not pay for or deliver the groceries themselves.

Shopping shifts typically last 3 hours, and shoppers can sign up to help weekly or bi-weekly. Volunteers must have weekday early morning availability to assist with this role.  We shop at this location on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
