Volunteer: Caregiver Support Group Co-Facilitator

The Roseville Area Senior Program (RASP) is seeking a Volunteer Co-Facilitator for their Caregiver Support Group.  This group has been a vital part of the RASP program for more than 20 years.

If you have the following experience, this job may be for you.

Caregiving Experience -A facilitator should be out of their caregiving role for at least one year. Ideally, he/she has cared for a senior loved one (spouse/parent) and some experience dealing with dementia and/or healthcare issues is helpful. Leadership Experience – In small group settings or in support group settings, would be helpful, but not required. Be comfortable asking questions and dealing with sensitive conversations.

As a Facilitator, you will be leading, offering take-away educational material, set up, and share meeting reminder by email or calling.  For Co-Facilitator, you will be sharing the responsibilities.

The RASP Caregiver Support Group currently meets monthly on the second Tuesday, 12:30-2 p.m., at t the Fairview Community Center  (1910County Road B West, Roseville)

Training and orientation are available.

RASP Advisory Council Members are valuable resources for the Senior Program. Members assist the coordinator by sharing ideas for future programming, special events and activities. They share information about needs in the community for older adults, and how RASP can help better meet the needs. They may assist with planning and evaluating programs and services, and serve as connectors to community organizations that may be possible future partners. The RASP Advisory Council meets five times per year.

Volunteer: Volunteer Medical Driver (Age 21 +)

Volunteer Medical Drivers use their own vehicles to take older adults in the Roseville area to medical appointments. These are grateful individuals who have very few options for getting to their medical appointments. You choose your time, day of the week, season. Once a month or once a week; it’s up to you. You are also reimbursed for mileage. Medical appointment travel area is a ten mile radius of  Roseville. Volunteers may specify their driving area, and provide the Roseville Area Senior Program with a schedule that best suits their availability.

The Office Receptionist assists the Roseville Area Senior Program program staff by answering the phone, greeting the public and providing information regarding the RASP, and other older adult needs and services. Once a week ½ day (4-hours). Training provided.

This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who enjoys meeting the public and assisting others. We value our volunteers and believe in making them feel appreciated and welcomed.
