Volunteer: Accuplacer Volunteer Tutor

Summit Academy OIC is looking for a volunteer Accuplacer Tutor to support adult students wanting to enroll in Summit’s vocational programs. Tutors can cover Reading, Writing, or Math in their tutoring times. Materials will be provided.

Tutoring sessions will be held in-person at Summit Academy OIC's main campus in the afternoons. Tutors can come once or twice a week. Times are flexible.

All interested volunteers will need to complete a 4-hour training through Literacy Minnesota by the time they have been in the program for 6 months.

Summit Academy OIC is looking for a math volunteer to lead adult education classes. Students in the Summit Prep program are building foundational math skills in number sense and operations, algebra, and geometry in order to enter into Summit's GED program.

Classes go from 10:45-12:00pm, Monday-Friday. All lesson plans and materials are provided. Volunteers can teach in-person or online via Zoom. Current need is for Fridays. 

All volunteers interested in this opportunity must attend 12 hours of training in order to teach in the classroom. Training is provided by Minnesota Literacy.
