Purpose:

To provide sensory and emotional stimulation, relaxation, and pain- relief by assisting with the preparation of the lotion mixed onsite and used throughout our care center.

Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize equipment to be used in process before and after as needed. Measure quantities of oils to be added to large batches of lotion as per recipes provided. Find music to meet needs of individual resident and upload music onto ipods to fulfill their listening needs.

Time Commitment and Availability

Currently we have approximately 50 residents in our Music and Memory program. As residents come and go, ipods will have to have contents deleted and added to be specific to the listening needs of each individual resident. Because we are unable to predict the frequency or time of these changes – this opportunity is an on-call position. When we are aware of a change that will be happening, the volunteer will be reached out to by staff and a time will be arranged for you to come in that is convenient for your schedule.
