We are currently looking to expand in many exciting ways and we are looking for a volunteer Grant Manager to join our team.

 

Details:

The Grant Manager will lead the effective and efficient administration of a grants portfolio, throughout the entire post-award life-cycle, from planning, implementation, monitoring, sub-contract management and grant close-out procedures. He/she will provide expertise and leadership to post-award management requirements and work closely with the Legal Department to ensure compliance with all funder regulations, policies and procedures, as well as those of Story Time.  Additionally, the Grant Manager will act as the key relationship partner with Story Time and funders, and functions as the administrative lead and high-level project manager on all post-award matters.



Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the grants requirement and implementation for Story Time
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process
  • Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results
  • Directly involved in grant writing by coordinating with grant writers or coordinators
  • Research for effective and authentic funding opportunities that have a lawful registration and proven track record, inline with Story Time’s donor vetting policy
  • Oversee that grants are implemented according Story Time’s Mission and to the operational plan and financial needs of Story Time
  • Work  with Business Development Manager to ensure proper coordination of fundraising work
  • Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities
  • Oversee the job of invoicing, accounting, reporting, and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process
  • Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and Finance Department in accordance with each requirement
  • Analyze the budget trends and make recommendations for cost control and reduction for various grants
  • Provide detailed reports to the funders and the board of directors with respect to Story Time’s progress
  • Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities



The skills you need to excel in this position include:

  • Excellent project management skills with experience in managing and supervising administrative projects
  • Strong command over written and verbal communication
  • Possess good knowledge of planning and strategizing financial and budgeting issues
  • Ability to work within a team and provide support to the junior, international, and parallel-counterpart staff
  • Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach and job responsibilities
  • Experience with basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail
  • Proficient in using computers with related knowledge of software programs and Internet
    • Experience with Salesforce
  • Ability to work remotely (and at the Twin Cities office 1-2 times per week if located in the Twin Cities).
