Carrying a weighted pack on your back. It implies action, energy, and purpose.
WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
-Raise money to help local veterans live happier and healthier lives
-Carry weight on your back to represent the weight many service members carry in the battle against combat stress
-Raising $2,500 sends one veteran through 23rd Veteran's life-changing reconditioning program
-Expect a day full of live music, long underwear, super hero costumes, and food/drinks throughout the course #bringyourfunface
THE RUNDOWN
-7 am volunteers begin arriving
-8:30 am registration and pre-ruck festivities
-10 am step off
-After Party until 5pm
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
- Registration - WELCOME people, check people in, collect money, hand out Ruck shirts
- Merchandise - use PayPal Here app on your phone (must have charged Smartphone and download our app)
- Warming/Cooling Tent - hand out beverages, encourage Ruckers, keep area clean, setup/tear down area
- Directional volunteer - parking or on the route to help our Ruckers know where to go
- Finish Line - CHEER for Ruckers as they finish, handout Finisher Coins (high energy & enthusiastic)
- Donations - manage canned goods/clothing, manage scale, consolidate cans, load into donation van
- Safety vehicles/medic
- Set up and tear down
- Overnight security to guard 23rd Veteran property (if applicable)
- Beer Garden - help with checking IDs, wristbanding, and collecting money for beer tickets
