IMPACT: You could be instrumental in helping keep Minnesota’s largest food pantry operating and thereby providing help with basic food needs to over 20,500 individuals on an annual basis. You will make a big difference in the lives of others, meet caring and dedicated fellow volunteers, and help your community.
ADULTS - YOU COULD BE HELPING WITH BOTH:
WAREHOUSE: Sorting food and seasonal donations; marking products; sorting perishable produce and bread; bagging produce and other items; preparing products for distribution to the Food Pantry and you may be called upon periodically to perform other duties.
and/or
DISTRIBUTION: Escorting clients to food pantry; inform clients on the distribution process; monitor distribution process (Service Assistant); ensure households receive program quantity levels; count and bag groceries (Distribution Assistant); assist in maintaining inventory supply; maintain distribution area organization (Exit Assistant) and may be called upon periodically to perform other duties.
SERVICE ASSISTANT
Major responsibilities (One or more of the following tasks):
• Regulate distribution flow
• Escort clients to distribution areas
• Assist families in distribution area for Birthday Bags, Emergency Food Packs and MAC/NAPS
• Provide brief distribution area updates and 1st time user orientation
• Connect clients with food distribution volunteer for assistance with shopping in food area,
as needed
• Follow distribution program guidelines
• Communicate with Receptionist (staff) and distribution, exit, and lobby intake volunteers
DISTRIBUTION ASSISTANT
Help client shoppers with bagging groceries and initial check-out.
EXIT ASSISTANT
Assists with final check-out, connects riders and drivers, and other distribution area tasks as
needed.
