See, Test & Treat - Women’s Cancer Prevention Education and Screenings:
In September we invite women and their families to cancer education events; 10 volunteers are needed for each of these events; bilingual volunteers on 9/26 and 9/27:
African American Women’s Cancer Forum on Thursday 9/19, 3:30-7:30pm
Hmong Cancer Awareness Tea on Thursday 9/26, 3:30-7:30pm
Latina Cancer Awareness Event on Friday 9/27, 3:30-7:30pm
Then the first week of October (Tuesday 10/1-English, Wednesday 10/2-Spanish and Thursday 10/3-Hmong) 7:30am-4:30pm, we provide a day of screening for women 21 years old and older. Volunteer shifts in October are 7:30am-12:00pm and 12:00pm-4:30pm. Women meet health care providers, receive free screenings, sign up for health insurance if they need it, and learn how to be healthy. Ten volunteers are needed for each September date and thirty volunteers are needed for each October date to help escort the ladies through the clinic stations, participate in the dance and exercise, and have some great meals. Bilingual volunteers are needed for the Hmong and Latina/Spanish-speaking events.
We are also looking for 4 volunteers to help us set up for the events on Monday 9/30, 3:00-5:00pm.
