Every year, Catholic Charities serves over one million healthy meals and snacks and provides supplies to nearly 20,000 people most in need in our community. At the Catholic Charities Distribution Center (CCDC), we receive large donations of food and other new and unused clothing and household, personal care and supplies that are distributed to our client programs and 11 food service sites throughout the Twin Cities.
- We are in need of volunteers to assist with sorting and packing non-food donations, sorting and storing large quantities of food as well as helping with composting and recycling tasks, processing sizeable amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables, making sandwiches and/or other food service preparations. No special skills are required.
- We welcome volunteers who are age 14 and older.
- Our distribution center is located near downtown St. Paul and just east of lower-town - we have a parking in our lot and on Chester Street
- We receive donations each business day resulting in much needed help - we would love to have you join us!
We welcome you to sign up using our volunteer portal and look for St Paul Distribution Ctr Sort & Prep.
Food shelf visits in Minnesota have surged to record levels.
This dramatic increase reflects the growing strain on households as food costs
remain high and critical safety-net programs face uncertainty. In recent years,
as changes and challenges to SNAP benefits and other federal supports
were debated and implemented, food shelves experienced ripple effects, with an
even greater number of neighbors turning to charitable food assistance to
fill widening gaps.
