Join us for a kick-off event on October 30! As part of Hlub Zoo and ThayGeMoo services, we host Rites of Passage events for Hmong and Karen students in 5th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade to learn, explore, and strengthen various parts of their identities. Students will connect with their cultural roots to gain a deeper understanding of their internal strengths, wisdom, and history. Students and their families will experience the importance and meaning of being in a community with each other throughout the school year.
Volunteer Shift: Be a part of something meaningful! Help with setup, activity/game stations, serve food, and cleanup. Folks who speak Hmong and Karen are encouraged to join. Volunteers must have cultural sensitivity, mindfulness and patience. Open to volunteers 18 or older.
