Dining Out For Life® is an annual fundraising event involving the generous participation of volunteers, corporate sponsors and restaurants. The concept is simple: Restaurants donate a generous percent of their sales to a local HIV service organization, and the local HIV service organization fills participating restaurants with diners.
Dining Out For Life Minnesota is facilitated by The Aliveness Project and includes restaurants in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Greater Minnesota. In 2018, 148 restaurants and 40,000 diners participated to raise a total of $243,186. Minnesota will celebrate its 25th year of dining out to end HIV on Thursday, April 25. Our goal is to raise $260,000 to support people living with HIV in Minnesota.
Do you want to play a vital role in the success of Dining Out For Life?
Volunteer as an Ambassador! The Aliveness Project needs 200+ volunteer hosts at the 150+ participating restaurants throughout the metro area. Last year, Ambassadors raised over $74,000 in additional donations.
Ambassadors represent The Aliveness Project at restaurants on the day of the event. For one or more meals, you will:
- invite friends, family, and co-workers to your restaurant
- welcome and thank diners
- encourage participation in our prize drawing and additional donations
Ambassadors have the option of working with a partner, so it’s a great activity to do with a friend, classmate, or co-worker. Aliveness provides a 1.5 hour training session and all the materials you need to be successful. No prior volunteer experience is necessary. Have fun while having a huge impact on your community!
