There is nothing like a furry face and wagging tail to brighten your day and bring a smile to your face. For patients in hospitals, pet therapy decreases anxiety, lowers blood pressure, and improves overall health.
Our pet therapy volunteers offer comfort and support to patients, families, and staff. As they go about the hospital, they leave a trail of smiles everywhere they go in a way that only dogs can do.
What our staff say about our pet therapy volunteers:
"When Dave and Sarah (Pet therapy team) walk onto the Rehab Unit, they instantly share light and joy. Sarah is a welcome face to patients who may feel isolated due to their recent hospitalization. Sarah's comforting spirit, intuitive nature, and friendly demeanor is truly a gift for patients and staff alike."
