Volunteers keep the doors of the Newport Library open. You are a friendly face. You do not have to be a computer whiz but should have familiarity with a computer. You are simply asked to be friendly and as helpful as you can be. Training will be provided. There is optional book shelving and tidying up. You will help people check-out books, may occasionally scan items or assist patrons in making a photocopy. Volunteers do have to fill out a volunteer application and have a background check. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to work alone.
3 hours a month makes a huge impact on our community.
3-6pm is a great time to volunteer if you would like to tutor school age youth.
