FamilyMeans is looking for volunteers for our Moments that Matter event. Moments that Matter is a new event for FamilyMeans that will take place at the Stillwater Library on June 11th from 4:30 to 6 p.m. This event is for people living with dementia and a family member or care partner. The occasion is designed to celebrate these special guests as important members of the community and those caring for someone with dementia to celebrate life with others who have similar life experiences. The evening will consist of a nice dinner for attendees, music, and social time.
Volunteers should commit to being there from 3:30 to 7. Volunteers for this event could be asked to help in a variety of ways. Before the event volunteers will be asked to help direct attendees through the library, help with set up or other tasks to support the event. During the event volunteers will help attendees by being there to help provide basic assistance. After the event volunteers will help with cleaning up.
We will have a pre-event training session to go over how to interact with people with dementia and go over specifics about the event.
