Volunteer: Brighton Hospice Vigil Volunteers (Age 18 +)Hold a hand, listen with your heart, or simply hold a silent space for dying patients. Vigil volunteers provide a calming, loving presence to patients in their final days and hours of life. These special volunteers bring peace and dignity to patients who are dying alone or when family members request additional support. Vigil volunteers help complete our circle of care to ensure that patients die feeling valued, loved, and wholly supported on their journey. Volunteers are provided free training and work flexible hours. Background check, fingerprinting, and TB testing required. Please note: If you have recently lost a family member or dear friend, we encourage you to wait a minimum of 13 months following the death to apply to serve as a hospice volunteer.
