We are seeking compassionate, reliable, Massage Therapists with a sincere desire to help improve the quality of our client's lives. 

TIME COMMITMENT: minimum of 3 hours per month for 4 months (a longer commitment is welcomed)

REQUIREMENTS: Proof of Personal Liability Insurance

                          Use of your own portable Massage Chair (Avivo is currently unable to provide)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT (must show proof of one of the following):

* Current, active Massage Therapy License

* Diploma from accredited Massage Therapy school with 500+ hours of experience

* Board certification (National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork OR  Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination)

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, licensed hairdressers and barbers with a sincere desire to help improve the quality of our client's lives.

REQUIREMENTS: Active MN Cosmetology or Barber License

                          Background check (completed by Avivo)

Don’t have much time to volunteer? Consider hosting a donation drive! Donation drives are vital to helping secure in-kind donations for the individuals and families served at Avivo. In this role, you will be asked to lead a donation drive within your community (coworkers, friends, family) to collect or purchase items needed as part of kits, or from the wish list, that help participants in Avivo’s programs.

This opportunity is flexible; you can volunteer at a location of your choice and drop off the items at a location near you. We have 12 locations, serving the Twin Cities metro and St. Cloud areas.

We need your help! The families we serve – often the most vulnerable in our community – have been hit with crisis upon crisis. 

You can make a difference in the lives of those Avivo serves by purchasing, assembling, and donating baskets to meet specific client needs. Baskets can range from kits to help clients success upon program entry, to kits that will help clients transition into permanent housing, to basic hygiene items, and all make a tremendous difference in someone’s life. If you’re interested in making a difference, please look carefully over the following options to select a basket or kit that matches your interests.

These baskets support program participants in our residential programs with basic necessities. Click the basket type to see full description.

These kits will be given to program participants in Avivo programs that include participants in our residential and/or outpatient treatment programs, street outreach, or housing programs. Please consider providing products that can be used for diverse hair types and skin needs. Click the basket type to see full description.

These kits support participants in Avivo’s programs as they transition from homelessness or housing insecurity into permanent housing. Click the basket type to see full description.

These kits will help participants in Avivo’s programs as they search for and interview for jobs, or might help a program participant who would like to quit smoking or chewing tobacco to reach their goal. Click the basket type to see full description.

Avivo is seeking a Handyperson Volunteer who is willing to help with general maintenance and building needs. This role may be right for you if you have a lifetime of experience or someone who has basic knowledge and is looking for more formal experience.

Volunteers in this role will support Avivo's Maintenance Team with general needs. Past volunteer projects have included: touching up paint, hanging cabinets, changing light bulbs, and more.

Frequency of Volunteering: Flexible - weekly or project based

Skills Required: No formal skills or qualifications are required for this role. However, some basic maintenance / building skills would be beneficial.

MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 25lbs and CLIMB STAIRS.

Do you love organizing? We are seeking volunteers to re-organize the donation closet. 

An essential way that the community supports Avivo is through in-kind donations, ranging from coloring books and crayons to snacks to household goods. 

Duties for this role may include:

* tracking in-coming donations

* organize donations

* creating and maintaining accurate inventory list

* contact appropriate program staff to coordinate delivery of donation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

TIME EXPECTATION: weekly or every other week commitment, shifts will be scheduled in 2 hour increments; Monday through Friday

Are you an energetic, out-going person who loves to connect with new people? Are you looking for a way to support Avivo?

Avivo is seeking a volunteer who is willing to support various fundraising efforts. This position is flexible and can be completed remotely. Duties for this position can include:

* Soliciting in-kind auction and raffle items for fundraising events

* Serving on fundraising event committees

* Being present during fundraising events as a volunteer representative of Avivo

Avivo is seeking volunteers who are willing to support tracking in-kind donations through Raisers Edge database. Knowledge of Raisers Edge is not required, but experience with database entry is helpful. Training and on-going support will be provided.

Are you looking for a fun project for a group of people?  We might have just the thing for you!  We are looking for groups of 5 to 20 people that want to help out with various facilities projects at our Avivo sites.

Volunteers are needed to for various indoor and outdoor projects. Most groups can complete a project in 3 hours. Some sample projects include:

* Paint: Help Avivo re-fresh apartments for new Avivo clients by painting apartment walls.

* Landscaping tasks (Starting in April): Looking to enjoy the outdoors again? We are looking for groups to help with planting, weeding and raking.

* Assembling furniture: Do you have a knack for assembling Ikea furniture? We are looking for groups to assemble dressers, bookshelves, and cabinets to place in client's apartments.

 * Hauling furniture: As apartments are updated with new furniture, we are in need of volunteers who are willing to move the old furniture out. Groups should have volunteers who are able to climb stairs and carry up to 25 lbs.
