Volunteer and Make a Difference! We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring our Cooking Nights and Craft Workshops to life! Whether you're into baking festive cookies, guiding creative art projects, or supporting inclusive community events, your time and talents can make a big impact. 

Craft: Pet Rock Zoo

Help participants paint and decorate their own pet rocks, then build a mini habitat for them to live in. A playful and imaginative craft for all ages!

Art Abilities: Support a series of inclusive workshops where participants explore creativity through painting, journaling, and abstract art. Volunteers help foster expression and connection.

Role Overview: As a Community Engagement Volunteer with Reach for Resources, you will represent our organization at local community events. Your role will involve raising awareness about our programs and services by engaging with event attendees, facilitating fun activities such as spinning wheel or Plinko games, and sharing information about Reach for Resources.

Volunteers will receive comprehensive training to confidently discuss Reach’s mission and offerings. Additionally, you’ll have access to resources to answer common questions and direct people to the appropriate contacts for follow-up. This role offers flexibility, with opportunities to support events primarily during evenings and weekends, as well as some daytime options.

Key Responsibilities:

Represent Reach for Resources at local community events.

Facilitate interactive games and activities to engage attendees.

Share information about Reach for Resources’ programs and services.

Assist with event setup and teardown.

Pick up and return event supplies from the Reach office (mileage reimbursement available).

Qualifications:

Enjoys engaging with people and possesses excellent oral communication skills.

Punctual, reliable, and dependable.

Comfortable navigating to various event locations.

Availability for evening and weekend events preferred; some daytime opportunities may also be available.

Passionate about making a positive impact in the community.

Additional Information:

Volunteers must wear Reach-branded gear during events (provided).

Training and resources will be provided to prepare you for this role.

Mileage reimbursement is available for trips between the office and event sites.

Work alongside our recreation team to support children with disabilities in a range of sports—from soccer and basketball to skiing and swimming. You'll be on the front lines, facilitating adaptive programs, coordinating volunteers, and helping design team jerseys and practice drills. Department Overview
Reach for Resources is a nonprofit agency based out of Minnetonka, Minnesota. We provide individualized services that maximize independence, boost community engagement, and improve physical and emotional well-being to individuals of all abilities living in the Minneapolis metro area. Our recreation department offers small group and individual therapeutic services and contracts with county and city park and recreation departments to provide adaptive recreation,
inclusion support, and training services to their community members.
Job Summary

The Adaptive & Inclusive Sports Intern at Reach for Resources will collaborate closely with the recreation team to offer support and services to children with disabilities and their families through various sports programs. The intern’s responsibilities include assisting children with disabilities in mainstream sports settings, leading adaptive sports such as bowling, softball, basketball, pickleball, and soccer, and providing administrative support for these activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Work with the parks and recreation staff by providing paraprofessional support at sports programs including but not limited to: soccer, dance, t-ball, basketball, downhill ski/snowboard lessons, ice skating lessons, swimming, and more!
• Facilitate adaptive sports programs (sports offered depend on the season)
• Provide administrative assistance such as designing and ordering team jerseys, printing rosters, sending email reminders, and monitoring weather for weather cancellations
• Provide ongoing communication and feedback to program supervisors
• Share ideas for future program improvement
• Complete needed paperwork and trainings in a timely fashion
• Learn and utilize many different behavior management strategies to help all participants be successful
• Assist in designing a stretch routine or drills for practices
• Assist in communication of inclusion plans with families
• Coordinate volunteers who can assist with coaching opportunities
Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in social work, psychology, sociology, education, or a related field (or with related work experience)
• Experience working with children and/or people with disabilities
• Experience playing a sport on a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Creative problem solving skills
• Must have current driver’s license in good standing and maintain own reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs

Office support is important for our nonprofit to help succeed in our mission! 

Reach for Resources is a non-profit based out of Minnetonka that supports over 1,300 individuals annually all over Minnesota through programs such as Adaptive Recreation & Inclusion, Case Management, Counseling, Employment, Housing Supports, Independent Living Supports, and Mental Health Services.  

The committee will annually review the Strategic Plan, to ensure that it is achievable, in line with the vision of the organization, and contains goals that specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based; and review the long-term Financial Plan of the organization to ensure that it is achievable and in line with the Strategic Plan.

Finance

· Aid the Finance and Strategy Chair in ensuring the organization’s mission and purpose is fulfilled.

· Understanding how the organization is financially supported/ capitalized.

· Assessing internal and external risk that may have a fiscal impact on the organization.

· Monitor and recommend financial efficiency.

· Assist the Chair in providing financial guidance to the Board.

· Assessing and recommending proper procedures to protect the organization’s resources.

· Monitoring the budgeting process to ensure reasonable assumptions are aligned with the organization’s goals.

· Review and make recommendations regarding other Committee’s new projects and expenditures, with respect to financial planning.

Strategy

· Assist the Chair and Committee in establishing strategic goals by:

o Review guardrails for Managements’ financial decision-making authority.

o Reviewing Managements’ resources and skills to facilitate organizations internal controls.

· Oversee and discuss with Management the organizations’ progress and implementation of their strategic plan.

General

· Notice for meetings will be provided in advance.

· Meetings will take place via video, telephone, or in person as deemed appropriate.

· Review and amend Committees procedures & charter and submit to Board.

· Review and make recommendations to the Board

Responsibilities/Duties: Each member of the Fund Development & Marketing Committee is asked to contribute their skills to assist with increase awareness, communication, engagement, and fundraising efforts with our organization and mission.

· Development Strategy: develop & execute a long-range fund development plan with a mix of strategies including revenue goals and action plans. Monitor and track progress on the fund development plan. Participate in problem solving to address lags in achievement of objectives and targets.

· Philanthropic Support: develop plans surrounding our philanthropic engagement & support. Assess fund development results and return on investment (ROI).

· Fundraising activities: investigate new fundraising projects, activities, and ideas for possible use in the future.

· Social Media/Blog: Increase awareness of Reach social media, suggest topics and posts, review analytics, and plan long-term goals.

· News/Communications/Press: Design ideas for print and online communications, promote fundraising days and events, and develop press and marketing contacts.

· Content: Assist in gathering content, data, and stories on Reach services and discuss new ways of sharing with our supporters.

· Reach Awareness: Increase awareness of Reach services and mission, help connect with other organizations for partnerships and opportunities, gather ideas for local involvement and awareness, and plan long-term strategic goals for Reach.

· Website & Online Ads: Increase awareness of Reach website, website suggestions/updates/mobile friendly, suggest/update ads (Google & Microsoft), track/review analytics, and plan long-term goals.

Meetings: Meetings can be conducted in person or via teleconference and occur once every 2 months. Email will be used in between meetings to monitor any ongoing projects.

Qualifications: To volunteer at Reach, volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and be screened through an interview process by our Volunteer Manager.

Training and Preparation of the Job: All volunteers must complete an orientation training session.

Commitment:
