Volunteer: Board Member- Development

10th Wave is seeking a new Board Member to serve from January 2024-January 2026. 10th Wave is a 501c(3) musician-led ensemble that collaborates with living, local and/or underrepresented artists to perform high quality programming and connect with the Minneapolis-St. Paul community.

 

We are seeking a board member with a strong background in fundraising, grant writing, and/or donor relations. This board member would play a significant role in mentoring and assisting our organization to raise funding for our concert seasons and expand our donor base. As a part of our strong commitment to diversity, we highly encourage BIPOC candidates to apply for this position. 

 

Board Responsibilities

Serve a 2 year term Attend 3 scheduled board meetings in the fiscal year virtually or in-person Serve on fundraising committee and attend meetings as necessary Advise the organization’s Director of Fundraising in identifying new donors, new sources of funding, and brainstorming fundraising campaigns for Give to the Max and an annual summer fundraiser event Reviewing and evaluating KPIs set for the fiscal year Partnering with other board members to ensure the organization’s mission and resolutions are being carried out Upholding the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion Represent and act as an ambassador to the organization’s mission and presence in the Minneapolis-St. Paul community 

 

Qualifications

 

Experience in fundraising or donor relations in their current or former profession.  Enthusiasm or background in the classical music genre and/or arts industry Willingness to work with and mentor staff members Passion to bring inclusiveness and equity to the arts Commitment to our mission
