Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Art is expanding its Board of Directors!

Foci (pronounced foh-sigh) MCGA, located in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis, has a mission to "gather people together to explore the creative potential of glass art ". Our programming upholds the mission by providing opportunities to quality artistic learning and studio facilities that serve all experience levels from enthusiasts to professional glass artists.    

Foci MCGA's Board of Directors is a governing board that relies on the unique experiences and skills of board members to help support the mission and strategic direction of the organization.  We are seeking a diverse pool of board candidates with varied experience and expertise. Foci MCGA is specifically seeking individuals with experience in fundraising/development, marketing, non-profit governance, and accounting.  Connections to Twin Cities’ corporations and businesses is a plus.

 Board member responsibilities and expectations:

Establish the mission, vision, goals, and policies of the organization and ensure that the organization is acting consistently with them Ensure that the organization has sufficient resources to achieve its goals Act as an ambassador for the organization and its mission within your personal and professional network Attend 4 of the 6 bi-monthly board meetings and be present for ad-hoc meetings to discuss specific issues as needed Volunteer for one committee and attend the committee meetings as scheduled. Make an annual gift to the organization in an amount that is meaningful to you Support the fundraising objectives of the organization, either through granting or securing individual gifts and/or creating revenue-generating relationships with corporations, foundations, or major givers

 Time expectation:

5-10 hours a month - will fluctuate depending on monthly activities Bi-monthly board meetings are the second Wednesday of the month, 6:00 – 9:00pm and may be attended in-person or virtually Committee meetings, as designated by committee members Length of term: 1-3 years and may be renewed.

This is an uncompensated volunteer position.
