Volunteer: Mentors

Invest in a teen’s life to provide our students hope, love and support throughout their journey as a young adult.

Grow Relationships - Mentors will be required to serve as a Program Leader for the first 3-6 months of volunteering. This will give mentors a chance to grow relationships with students, see which of them they connect with and it will give Quincy House an opportunity to see if they would be a good fit in a Mentor role. Each Mentor will have one student to invest in.

Participate in Training and Retreats - All mentors are required to attend training sessions (monthly) and retreats. Participation in other learning or training directed by Quincy staff will also be mandatory.

Provide Rides to Students - Mentors will pick up and drop off students for any activity they are leading.

Be consistent - After being placed with a teen, Mentors will communicate and plan one or more activities each week. 2-4 hours per week is the requirement for the duration of the commitment to this role.

Volunteer: Tutors

Challenge and foster academic growth in our students and provide hope, love and support throughout their journey as a young adult.

Quincy is looking for Tutors who are equipped to teach subjects of Math, Science, Social Studies or English.

Be consistent - Quincy opens the house up for homework help from 4-6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays before Program begins and we ask our Tutors to consistently be checking in with students about getting help. Tutors must plan to be available once a week on one of those days.

Commit - Tutors will serve Quincy for at least 6 months. After the first 3 months of volunteering, both the volunteer and Quincy Staff can evaluate if this is a good fit for both. Beyond this, Tutors are required to find a replacement for themselves to finish out the duration of their commitment if for some reason that Tutor feels they must terminate their volunteer agreement.
