Newport Library & Community Center is in need of tutors with interest in teaching reading, writing, and/or arithmetic K-8 students. Tutors would make their own schedules. Tutors must complete fingerprinting and a background check before starting their volunteer work.

Activity Assistants help during open hours, working with the Library & Community Center Coordinator to create and run programing. Assistants may choose to work on programs that excite them appealing to any age group. 

Do you have a skill that you could share with our small community? We are looking for presenters to teach our patrons about topics of interest. Maybe it is a life-skill.  Maybe you have a passion to share. We are looking to expand our adult programs with training opportunities here at Newport Library. In an effort to open more hours, we are looking for people that would like to work daytime or after school hours. These volunteer staff members will choose their own hours. Hours should be consistent, but we will be able to find a substitute to assist.
