Volunteers will remove invasive species and haul recently downed wood to open up and support vital outcrop habitat, home to the rare ball cactus, one of three native cacti to the state of MN. Volunteers will also spread native seed once areas have been opened. Please note registrants will receive updates on any changes and final event details as the date approaches. This event is open to all, and any necessary training will be provided. Day of: Please arrive promptly, allowing time for parking and short walk. For over 40 years, we’ve invited the community to see local musicians, dance performance groups, art exhibitions, and storytellers. In 2017 alone, over 7,000 people from the Twin Cities joined us at the Landmark Center to celebrate Irish-American culture. Proceeds from our events help sustain our programs, like educational grants, that support Irish artists all year round. The St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is produced by Irish Arts Minnesota and is presented in partnership with the Minnesota Landmarks. At Camp Odayin, heart heroes gain a sense of belonging, connect with nature, and have a ton of fun. Kind-hearted adults are invited to come play too! As a volunteer camp counselor or nurse, you'll splash in the lake, roast marshmallows, laugh, and create memories that last a lifetime, for our campers and YOU! “I swear going to camp ages you in reverse, I felt like a kid again!” - Holly, volunteer camp nurse Spend five days of your summer enjoying the magic of camp and making a difference! Our medically staffed camps are hosted in Elkhorn, WI and Crosslake, MN. No medical knowledge or experience is needed for camp counselors. Training is provided and you may be eligible for travel expense reimbursement of up to $200. We welcome and are excited to receive applications from people of all backgrounds and identities.
