Help write and research grants to support Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners (IOCP). The volunteer grant writer will write and submit entry level grants and letters of introduction, and will assist with research to identify and vet potential grants. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Draft and write compelling letters of introduction and entry level grant applicationsConduct research to identify new grant opportunities that align with IOCP's mission and workReview grant information and determine which grants are a good match for IOCPTrack volunteer hours monthly and report on IOCP's online volunteer system

Qualifications:

Exceptional written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and conciselyAbility to edit existing content to fit unique grant applications guidelinesComfortable using technology and ability to work in and navigate the internet, Microsoft Office and/or Google suite of productsStrong research skills, including the ability to find and interpret grant guidelinesHigh degree of organization and meticulous attention to detail to ensure all application requirements are met

Help keep the Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners (IOCP) Food Shelf stocked with items that are often requested but are difficult or expensive for us to purchase. Pack kits that our volunteers will put directly on our shelves for shoppers. Once packed completed kits can be dropped off at the IOCP donation door during regular hours. Each type of kit includes specific items, please contact our Community Engagement Team for specific details (getinvolved@iocp.org).

Retail Rescue Drivers play a crucial role in providing healthy, non-perishable food to our clients. Drivers pick up large food shelf donations from local grocery stores. The food is no longer able to be sold at the grocery store for various reasons but still safe to consume. This role saves thousands of pounds of food from being in a landfill each day!

Position Summary

The Retail Rescue Drivers help gather and load up donations then transport them back to IOCP. Due to the size of these donations often, drivers use IOCP vans and trucks for pick-ups. Key Responsibilities:

Using IOCP van or truck (or your own), pick up pre-packed donations from specific local retailer Deliver items to IOCP delivery door Bring in and weigh donations with help of Food Shelf Prep team volunteers Contact staff supervisor with any questions or concerns Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Provide excellent customer service

Skills and Qualifications

Must be 18+ years of age. Driving record check will be completed prior to volunteering Complete road test if driving IOCP van or truck Comfortable driving a van or small truck for deliveries Reliable, able to follow deadlines. Valid Minnesota driver’s license.

Support programs run out of the store to provide clients with basic clothing and household items Help raise revenue for the store which supports all programs and services provided by IOCP

Treasure Hunters work as a team to help sort through and process donations or assist with projects in our Resale store. Store Support volunteers help to keep our store staffed, open, stocked, and organized. They serve in a variety of areas depending on the needs of the store on any given day. We strive to have a welcome environment and we ask all volunteers come with a pleasant and cheerful rapport, respect, attentiveness, responsiveness, courtesy and willingness/ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

Support our food shelf by serving as a Shopper Assistants to help program participants while they are shopping in the food shelf and help staff when needed during the shift. This could involve greeting shoppers, gathering items for shoppers, bagging items, restocking shelves, and answering questions. This role requires following all safety guidelines required by Interfaith Outreach, be able to stand/move/bend on cement for length of shift, be able to lift 20lbs, be over 18, and be able to respectfully work with diverse populations.

Weekly Shift Schedule:

Monday: 12:45 - 3 p.m. & 2:45 - 6:15 p.m.

Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.; 1:45 - 5 p.m. & 4:30 - 7 p.m.

Thursday: 4:30 - 7:15 p.m.

Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Support our food shelf by helping to sort through incoming donations and stocking the shelves in preparation for guests to shop. This could involve checking expiration dates, stocking shelves, repacking items, packing orders for home delivery, and helping staff when needed. This role requires following all safety guidelines required by Interfaith Outreach, be able to lift 20lbs, be able to stand/move/bend on cement for length of shift, be over 16, and be able to respectfully work with diverse populations.

Weekly Shift Schedule:

Monday: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 2:30 - 5 p.m.

Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Wednesday: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Help support both IOCP's Food Shelf and Resale Store by:

Greeting and welcoming donors Help unload donations for the Food Shelf or Resale Select thrift store Identifying what donations can be accepted Providing donation receipt Help with additional projects when/if requested

Volunteers will be working in and outside so please make sure to dress for the weather. Volunteers must be 16 or older and be comfortable lifting about 50 lbs.

Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays: 9:30am - 1:30pm & 1:15 - 5:15pm
