The Latino Economic Development Center's Taco Tour on Lake Street is back! Enjoy a day of nonstop flavor and family fun with taste bud-tempting tacos from Lake Street’s finest taquerias, cafes, and restaurants.
Join us in proudly supporting Latinx- and immigrant-owned small businesses in the corridor.
Together as one, we’ll celebrate Lake Street’s return to greatness, munching forward with a huge appetite for more positivity, more community pride and, of course, more tacos.
This FREE event during Hispanic Heritage Month is all about supporting Latinx- and immigrant-owned small businesses while celebrating Lake Street’s return to greatness.
The Taco Tour on Lake Street is a self-guided tour. But have no fear, we’ll provide guides and information about each participating taqueria, café, and restaurant to inform your culinary tour of Lake Street!
Because the primary goal of the 2022 Taco Tour is to help these businesses who have been struggling following the pandemic and uprising, Taco Tour attendees will buy tacos (and other delicious food and cold drinks!) directly from the participating businesses.
Lake Street will still be open to traffic during the Taco Tour, but we’ll activate several community lots along the Tour route with performances from Latinx entertainers and artists, as well as lots of family-friendly activities to keep the kids occupied (and parents sane).
