Saturday, February 18th, 10:00am-3:00pm
Mall of America

Join HandsOn Twin Cities and 65+ organizations who will showcase thousands of volunteer opportunities held at Mall of America on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Individuals, families, youth group leaders, faith-based groups, school groups, and work groups seeking volunteer ideas, or team-building activities for their teams are encouraged to come.
Organizations at the Expo focus on a variety of community concerns, including youth and families, education, seniors, health and wellness, animals, environmental initiatives and basic needs such as food, housing, transportation and jobs.
Speed Volunteering
Have you ever heard about “Speed Volunteering?” Speed volunteering opportunities allow you and your friends or family to make a positive impact in your community by volunteering for fifteen minute projects.
In the first floor courts, HandsOn Twin Cities, in collaboration with our affiliate partners, will have seven "Speed Volunteering" opportunities for you to explore:
Ruff Start Rescue is dedicated to saving the lives of at-risk animals. Speed volunteers will make fleece dog toys and feral cat houses. [Macy's Court]
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity is committed to building the quality of life, health and prosperity of the 7-county metro region through the production and preservation of homeownership. Speed volunteers will draw and sign postcards to be sent to legislators to advocate for housing needs in lawmaking, as well as writing meaningful messages on studs to be used in the actual frames of the homes built. [Sears Court]
Open Arms cooks and delivers free, nutritious meals to people living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis and ALS in the Twin Cities. Speed volunteers will decorate bags for Open Arms's clients to bring a smile to their face. [North Garden Court]
Greater Twin Cities United Way connects people and resources within our community to challenge and change systems—like Minnesota’s education and jobs gap—that limit our potential. Speed volunteers will be creating Job Readiness Totes to benefit RESOURCE, a full-service nonprofit that increases well-being through recovery, employment and career advancement. [Sears Court]
Metro Meals on Wheels provides fresh, nutritious meals delivered directly to the homes of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the Twin Cities. Speed volunteers will be making fleece tie blankets. [North Garden Court]
MADD works to protect families from drunk driving, drugged driving and underage drinking. Speed volunteers will be making "thank you" cards for police officers at MADD's law enforcement recognition awards in April. [SE Court]
Gilda's Club Twin Cities is a free and welcoming “clubhouse” where everyone living with cancer can come for social, emotional and psychological support. Speed volunteers will be putting together DIY Wrap Bracelet Kits and writing short messages to Gilda's Club members whose lives have been impacted by cancer. [SE Court]
An extra special thank you goes out to our sponsors for helping us make the Expo possible!
