Who We Are
Vail Place is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based recovery services for adults with serious mental illnesses.
We are a unique program, following the Clubhouse model of recovery, which focuses on two vital aspects of the recovery journey: meaningful work and meaningful relationships. Our program is very relationally based; these relationships are built between staff, members, and volunteers working side-by-side to accomplish all the work of the Club (anything from preparing lunch to compiling program stats for Hennepin County reporting). Check out our website www.vailplace.org for more information on our program and the clubhouse model.
Have a special skill or passion?
We love it when volunteers bring something they are passionate about into our program. Your skills might fill a need for our community and provide great opportunities for our members. Some ideas include:
- Hosting a crafting class (bring in your expertise and some supplies- think scrapbooking, pottery, painting, etc.)
- Offering Tax preparation assistance
- Providing classes on nutrition, exercise, or other wellness related topics
- Teaching music lessons
- Taking members on outings in the community
- Offering free haircuts
- Helping tend the club gardens
- Providing cooking classes
We need social recreation volunteers!
