Who We Are

Watercourse Counseling Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to centering, cultivating and valuing our community. Founded in 1999 with a fundamental belief in the power of relationships in life and in healing, our vision is to develop innovative programs that address the continuum of mental health needs from prevention to intervention in our diverse Minneapolis community. Our guiding philosophy emphasizes community partnership as a means to support equitable access to mental health service and wellness resources.

What We Do

To advance our mission, we center community needs in the delivery of high quality, accessible mental health programming; cultivate a mental health workforce that is strengths-based, equity-focused and community-responsive, and value the strengths and wisdom of individuals and communities.

Since our founding, we have evolved into a team of 20 therapists who work in 16 Minneapolis schools and out of our clinic, serving approximately 400 families per year. Watercourse also operates a robust clinical training program that supports up to 10 practitioners annually toward becoming fully licensed mental health professionals.
