Who We Are

WE BELIEVE THAT — TOGETHER — OUR COMMUNITY CAN REDUCE POVERTY.

Poverty-level incomes, low academic achievement, and racial disparities in income and educational outcomes are threatening our community. Yet we are rich with people who are searching to find a way to make a real difference. Faith and spiritual communities are among the leaders in this search.

Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul harnesses the power of thousands of motivated volunteers from diverse faith and spiritual communities to relieve the effects of poverty and address its root causes. Interfaith Action employs an interfaith, multi-racial, intergenerational approach to:

  • Increase economic mobility in Greater Saint Paul
  • Activate and educate members of faith communities through transformative volunteer experiences
  • Strengthen faith and spiritual communities with well-supported pathways to engage in effective social justice work

What We Do

OUR PROGRAMS SEEK IMPACT AT THE INDIVIDUAL, GROUP AND SYSTEM LEVELS.

Our programs provide critically needed shelter for families, free legal assistance, and emergency services related to food, clothing and transportation. We also seek systemic solutions to reduce poverty through programs focused on high-impact volunteering, advanced understanding of the causes of poverty, cultural identity, and religious awareness and tolerance.
