Who We Are

The mission of the Vietnamese Social Services of Minnesota is to maintain the identity of Minnesota’s Vietnamese community while addressing the basic economic, education, and health needs of refugees and immigrants statewide, promoting healthy and thriving communities.

VSS provides an interconnected set of programs to help new refugees and immigrants achieve self-sufficiency. We provide our clients with individual plans,  moving them from initial resettlement support through basic English learning and employment and finally, to sustainable, healthy, and independent living. Currently, plans involve participation in programs relevant to individual and family needs across our five (5) program areas.

Programs:  Adult Basic Education, Civic Engagement, Health, Elders, and Self-Sufficiency and Employment

What We Do

We serve refugees and immigrants from all over the world. Our goal is to help each student and their family to become self-sufficient in their community.  VSS provides adult basic education classes including learning English, career and college readiness, employment assistance, and digital learning. In addition, we have programs to help our clients with health, financial, and housing assistance. Finally, we have a large elders group that provides life-long learning opportunities and services.

VSS has classes every day from 9:30 - 1:30 p.m. In addition, we have afternoon, evening and weekend opportunities.

Classes are in person and online.

Some additional services include food distribution, vaccination clinics, and family activities to provide information and services to build healthy families.
