Mission Statement: The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those with unmet needs, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring community members.
Organization’s Challenge:
Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley (BGCFV) is seeking support for a marketing strategy project. Their small marketing team (three staff, with one role currently vacant) has limited bandwidth and funding to use for marketing efforts, so being intentional about where they direct their energy is important. They host several fundraising events each year, the largest of which is Uplift. This event was previously branded as Vintage in the Valley with a wine-tasting focus but was rebranded three years ago to be more missional and kid-focused (“elevating youth dreams to new heights”). It is an upscale event with a $250 price point, including a three-course meal, drinks, and reception. BGCFV has struggled to get event attendance up to where it was pre-COVID: the ticket price did increase, which they’ve considered revisiting. Approximately ninety percent of event attendees receive tickets or tables through sponsorships, and their donor base is primarily those 50 years of age and older. BGCFV is interested in marketing to a younger generation of individual donors in their 30s and 40s to diversify their donor base for long-term sustainability. BGCFV seeks strategy recommendations around marketing to this younger demographic and expertise around appealing to them at this event to spark ongoing engagement.
Potential Deliverable(s):
1. Strategy recommendations on marketing to new donor audience
Requested Volunteer Skill Sets:
Marketing Strategy, Content Strategy, Communications
