ORGANIZATION: Face to Face
WEBSITE: www.face2face.org
Established: 1972 Number of Employees: 50+
Mission Statement: Face to Face’s mission is to advance economic and health equity for youth while providing support, opportunities, and access to resources as they build on their strengths and achieve their aspirations. Our vision is to see all youth valued for who they are and realize their full potential
Organization's Challenge:
Face to Face is seeking marketing strategy
recommendations for a newsletter relaunch. They serve over 4000 young
people ages 11–24 annually through six core service areas: medical, mental
health, day shelter, housing, education and employment, and youth justice. Their
communications are grounded in strengths-based storytelling that focuses on
empowerment and achievement rather than eliciting sympathy. As their
organization grows, they’re looking to relaunch an e-newsletter to supporters. Face
to Face hasn’t sent out a regular newsletter in 2 years and is seeking
expertise around how to make a newsletter that people will actually read. The
newsletter will be sent through Mailchimp: they have over 3300
people on their mailing list, so know it’s up to date and that those on it want
to hear from them. They want the newsletter to be engaging, which they define as
building an emotional connection with their audience and sharing more about
impact to deepen relationships. They seek marketing strategy recommendations
around their newsletter: not developing content, but offering guidance on
things like formatting, placement, and sections to include. Helpful expertise
would include how to make the newsletter visually appealing, with clear links
to take action or learn more, and what best practices they might draw upon in
terms of presentation and implementation. As time allows, they would also be
interested in a conversation about audience segmentation: up until now, they
have sent one newsletter to all supporters, but are considering whether
branching out into different types (donors, volunteers) would be worthwhile
Potential Deliverables(s):
1. Marketing Strategy around newsletter best practices
2. Roadmap for new letter creation & implementation
Requested Volunteer Skill Sets:
Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Content Management, Marketing Strategy, Communications
